Welcome to Department of Political Science

The Department of Economics, established in 1997, is one of the oldest departments of Nagar Parishad Shivaji Mahavidyalaya, Mowad. There are at present 120 per year sanctioned seats for this subject. There are one full time teachers in the department. Politics is the most democratic of all sciences as the final judgments concerning political reality and good life are the responsibility of all. In this backdrop, the study of political science as a subject is infinitely beneficial in view of its being the key to the understanding as well as the possible solution of all problems facing us in our contemporary times. Study of the subject opens up multiple opportunities for political science graduates. Students can choose from diverse fields such as civil services, law, journalism, print and electronic media, entrepreneurship, teaching and research, etc., for advancing one’s career.

Under UGC XII plan , department has received the grants for conducting National Seminar. In the year 2015 department organised National Seminar on “Impact of New Education Policy on Common People in Global Scenario” on dated 30 October, 2015.

Mission

The Political Science Department seeks to provide students with a learning experience that will equip them to face the challenges of an increasingly complex job market and prepare them to become active and engaged citizens at the local, national and international levels.
